Ohio- Marilyn Brechlin, 80, formerly of Meriden, passed away on Thursday, March 15 in Mercy Hospital, Fairfield, OH. She was the wife of the late Roger Anthony and Robert Brechlin. Marilyn was born June 12, 1926 in Queens, New York, a daughter of the late Charles and Miriam (Lesch) Guttman. She had a long career as a teacher at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School. She was also an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, Meriden from 1955 to 1990. Marilyn is survived by two daughters, Patricia Brechlin of Dayton, OH and Susan and her husband Joel Ivers of Cincinnati, OH, three sisters-in-law, Maureen Markham Guttman of East Northport, NY, Eleanor Brechlin Dalton of Durham, CT, Lois and her husband Walter Herzig of Durham, CT, a brother-in-law Walter and his wife Joan Anthony of Rockville Centre, NY and four grandchildren, Sarah Ivers of Highland Beach, FL, Scott Ivers of Hollywood, CA, Allison Ivers of Cincinnati, OH and Hannah Fournier of Dayton, OH. She was predeceased by a brother Charles Guttman. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 24 at 11:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church, 520 Paddock Ave., Meriden. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Bee St., Meriden. There will be no calling hours.
