Marilyn J. Larolo, 84, of Hamden, passed away on April 28, 2018 at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Larolo. Marilyn was born on January 5, 1934 in Melrose, MA, daughter of the late Melvin and Evelyn Brett Burt. She worked for many years as a stewardess for Eastern Airlines, was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hamden and was also a member of the Elks Lodge #2224. She loved knitting and donating scarves through the Elks club. Marilyn enjoyed playing bingo in Hamden and North Haven and liked trips to the casino. A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Christie Asmussen of Milford and Sherrie Matusz and her husband David of Scarsdale, NY; and grandchildren, Cameron and Ava Asmussen and DJ, Haley, Skylar, and Braden Matusz. She is also survived by her siblings Melvin Burt Jr. and his wife Irene of MA and Marjorie Granger and her husband Ted of FL; loving cousin Marion Gudatis; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Marilyn's funeral service on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 11:00AM at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Visitation will take place from 9:00AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Centerville Cemetery.
