MIDDLETOWN - Marion Hicks Aliff, 74, of 1606 Country Club Road, died Monday, May 29, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. She was the wife of the late Horace J. Aliff. Born in Meriden on March 6, 1932, she was the daughter of the late George and Veronica Hicks. She was employed as a secretary at Carabetta Enterprises and was a member of St. Pius X Church in Middletown. She was an avid gardener and a UConn basketball fan. She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Linberk of Berlin, Barbara Fetchenhier and her husband Jeffrey of Warrensburg, MI and Beverly Aliff and her partner Mark Swiridowsky of Middletown; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Alan and Cynthia Sliksbier Aliff of East Hampton and Stephen Aliff of Middletown; and four grandchildren, Corporal Bryan Linberk, presently stationed in Iraq, Kristina Linberk of Berlin, Tiffany Aliff of Middletown and Shannon Johnson of Camp Pendleton, CA. She was predeceased by two brothers, Edward Hicks and George Hicks, Jr. The funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
