Obituary

Marjorie Evelyn Kapitzke, R. N. passed away peacefully October 15, 2004 at the EastLongmeadow Skilled Nursing Center, Longmeadow, MA. She was born December 19, 1919, in Springfield, MA. Marjorie lived most of her life in Meriden area. She was the daughter of the late John E. and Ebba Berggren Anderson of Portland, CT. She was the past president of the Elliot Community Hospital, Keene NH., member of the Meridian Chapter #8, Order of Eastern Star, Westwood Court #5, Order of Amarpinth, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Marjorie was also a member of the Auxillary of the Veterans Memorial Hospital where she worked as a Registred Nurse for 25 years. She was past-mother advisor of Meriden Assembly #11, Order of Rainbow for Girls. She attended the Zion Swedish Lutheran Church in Portland, CT. Marjorie was predeceased by a brother, Robert W. Anderson, sons Roger W. Johnson and Paul J. Kapitzke, Jr. She is survived by a son Craig R. Johnson, Sr. and wife Tana, grandsons Erik Johnson of Cromwell, Adam Johnson of Middletown, Dane Johnson of Middletown, Michael Johnson of New Britain, Craig Johnson, Jr. serving with the U. S. Navy, grandaughter Krista Johnson of Middletown and several great grandchildren. Her family is greatful for the time spent with her and will forever cherish those fond memories. Funeral Service will be held at BEECHER & BENNETT-FLATOW Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, Monday morning October 18th at 11;00 O'Clock. Interment will be in the Swedish Cemetery, Portland, CT.
