Mary K. Watrous, age 87, a life long resident of Hamden passed away on March 28, 2012 in Port Orange, FL. She was the wife of the late Earl G. Watrous, III. Born in New Haven on October 15, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Charles & Lavina (Fray) Kitt and predeceased by her brother Charles N. Kitt. Besides being a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, knitting and crafts, Mary served as a School Crossing Guard in the Hamden Police Department for over 32 years. She was also a member of Mount Carmel Congregational church. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Watrous Peltier of Spring City, PA, her son and daughter-in-law, Earl & Scottie Watrous of Deland, FL and her grandson Greg Watrous of Debary, FL. Friends may visit with her family on Saturday, April 7th from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden and may attend her Funeral Service in the funeral home beginning at 10:30 am.
