Mary Lou Magoveny, 85, of Whitney Ave, Hamden, wife of the late George S. Magoveny, passed away peacefully May 22, 2012. She was born in Hamden Aug. 23, 1926, a daughter of the late Henry and Marie Depkin Pekari and was a long time Hamden resident. Mary Lou enjoyed playing bridge at the Miller Library and the North Haven Senior Center and was a former member of the Wallingford Country Club. She was famous for her 'mac & cheese' and cheese cake. Loving mother of Loralee Magoveny of Hamden, Glenn S. Magoveny of Hamden, Stuart Magoveny and his wife Brenda Magoveny of Northford and the late Clint Magoveny and his wife Jean Magoveny of East Haven. Also survived by her sister Eleanor Magoveny Modena and her husband Jack Modena of North Haven. Beloved grandmother of Misha Serfillippi and her husband Vince Serfillippi, Ryan & Jeff Magoveny, Joseph, Sam & George Morbidelli, Brandon Burr and Robert Herlihy, and her great-granddaughter Evelyn Claire Serfillippi. Relatives and friends may visit with her family on Saturday, May 26 from 2-5 pm at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE, HAMDEN. A remembrance service will be at 4:30 pm.
