In Milford, May 8, 2003, Mary Carbone Welch, 89, wife of William Marshall Welch of 34 Sunset Rd., West Haven, mother of Elizabeth Kotowski and her husband, William of Branford and William M. Welch, Jr. and his wife, Diana of Charlestown, RI, brother of Ann Robinson of Boston, MA and the late Michael, Harry and Angelo Carbone, grandmother of Ensign William J. P. Kotowski, US Coast Guard of Oregon and Jennifer L. Welch of Charlestown, RI. Mary was born in New Haven, June 3, 1913 a daughter of the late Victor and Antoinetta Paparella Carbone. She was a graduate of Albertus Magnus College and Fairfield Univ. She had been a biology teacher and science dept. chairman at West Haven High School. She was Past President and Dept. President of AMVETS Aux. of West Haven, Captain in the Civil Air Patrol and was Public Relations Officer. Funeral service Saturday, May 10 at 10 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave. at Court St., West Haven. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Haven.
