Obituary

Matthew C. Mauriello, 55, of Hamden passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023. He was the husband of Carrie Copeland Mauriello and father of Matthew Mauriello, Jr. He was born in New Haven on April 27, 1968 to Mario and June Laudano Mauriello. A graduate of Hamden High School, where he played football, Matthew was the owner/operator of Mauriello Tile & Marble. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid sportsman. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Ralph Mauriello and Adam Mauriello (Jennifer), sister-in-law Marissa Mauriello, his nieces, Angelina, Isabella, Christine, and Alexandra Mauriello, and dear friend Denise Jakubisyn. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Mario and Mary Mauriello and Ralph and Christine Laudano, his "Poppy & Nonni."

"Mattman" will be remembered for his huge heart, boyish grin, and the ability to make everyone laugh. If you were lucky enough to have known him, you knew love.

Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Thursday, June 15 th at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul VI Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, followed by his interment in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with his family on Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
