Matthew Poli
Nolan
March 6, 1984 – April 4, 2025
Matthew Poli Nolan, 41, of North Haven, passed away on April 4, 2025. Born in New Haven on March 6, 1984, and survived by parents Timothy Poli and Ellyn (Shields) Nolan, Matthew was a devoted husband and father and leaves behind his loving wife Jennifer (Kendall) Nolan and daughters Annie Lynn and Katie Ellyn Nolan. He is also survived by his two older brothers and their families; Timothy Poli (Jr.). and Diana Nolan, parents of Bridget, Owen, and Molly; and Adam Poli and Jennifer Nolan, parents of Blake and Bryce. Additionally, Matthew leaves behind his loving family by marriage, mother-in-law Marita Roddy and sister-in-law Krissy Kendall. Beyond his immediate family members, Matthew's life was also blessed by an expansive and wonderful extended family, all of whom will all miss him dearly.
While too short by far, Matthew lived a life full of joy and laughter and loved sharing experiences with others. Growing up in the Spring Glen neighborhood of Hamden, or "The Glen" as he and his boisterous friends dubbed it, Matthew excelled in everything, including academics, sports, and theater. Each of these aspects grew and evolved with him over the course of his life. He was a star baseball player in his youth and traded the diamond for links in adulthood, enjoying countless rounds of golf with his friends. His love of music and theater in particular, stayed with him through his whole life, with friends and family alike left with countless memories of Matthew belting out showtunes or Billy Joel numbers whenever possible (and maybe sometimes when he probably shouldn't have). Later in life, he converted his desire to help others into multiple small businesses whose work continues to benefit the communities he leaves behind. Matthew was also by far the weakest Boggle player in his family, and could never even dream of beating either of his brothers, who were definitely better than him.
