Obituary

In New Haven, March 15, 2004, Melvin Robertson Odell of 39 Founders Village, Clinton, formerly of Hamden and Brewster, MA. Husband of the late Doris Dearden Odell. Born in West Haven, May 28, 1919, he was the son of the late Percey and Edith Heath Odell. A veteran of W.W. II, Melvin served in the U. S. Army Air Corp. He retired after 20 years as a Vice Pres. and General Manager of the Connecticut Refining Co. A member of Adelphi - Momauguin Lodge # 63, A.F. & A.M., he was also a member of the Westbrook Lodge of the Elks and the Whitneyville Congregational Church. From 1982 - 1995, Melvin and his wife lived in Brewster on Cape Cod. He is survived by sons; Jeffry Odell of Westfield, MA and Colin Odell of Hamden, 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Robert Odell and daughter, Elizabeth Odell. Funeral service at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN, Friday, March 19th at 11 A.M. Friends may call Thursday rom 4 - 7 P.M. A Masonic Service by Adelphi - Momauguin Lodge # 63, A.F. & A.M. will be held at 7 P.M. It is suggested that memorial contributions be sent to the Masonc Charity Foundation, P.O. Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492.
