Michael R. 'Mike' Finnell passed away at his home in Hamden on April 7, 2016. Born in New Bedford, MA on February 8, 1948, he was a son of the late Raymond A. Finnell Jr. and Julia Crean Finnell. Mike was a disabled veteran as a result of serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his sister Elizabeth A. Finnell and his brother Robert J. Finnell, both of Hamden. He was recently predeceased by his brother William P. Finnell. A resident of Hamden most of his life, he was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and Ducks Unlimited. He greatly enjoyed fishing and his many vacations to Cape Cod. Mike will be greatly missed by his sister Elizabeth and brother Robert. Friends may visit with his family on Thursday, April 14th from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden and may attend his Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 321 Circular Ave, Hamden. Burial with Military Honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
