Muriel A. (Burrell) Estelle, 82, a lifelong resident of New Haven passed away peacefully on March 31, 2011. Recently she resided with her family in Bloomfield. She was born in New Haven on May 20, 1928 to the late Samuel and Evelyn Taylor Burrell, Sr. Muriel worked in the New Haven Public school system as a secretary for 25 years. After retirement she was employed part-time by the New Haven Police Dept. and part-time at a New Haven day care. Muriel is survived by her daughter Sharon O'Connor and her husband Everton of Bloomfield; brother, Samuel Burrell Jr. (Gertrude) of New Haven; sisters, Charlotte Mikell of Edison, NJ and Doris Matthews of Ansonia; 2 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Elizabeth Estelle. Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 7th at 11 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, followed by her burial in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
