In CT Hospice, Branford, Feb. 16, 2004, Myrtle Miville Connolly, 91, of Bolton St., Hamden, beloved wife of the late Edward Connolly, mother of Eileen C. Hoffman and her husband, Ret. Army Col. Peter D. Hoffman of Plano, TX and Douglas E. Connolly and his wife, Peg Hanlon Connolly of Hamden, grandmother of Karen Carlisle and her husband, James of Reston, VA, Kristen Navarre and her husband, Marc of Herndon, VA, David Hoffman and his wife, Suzette of Herndon, VA, Whitney Cook and her husband, Rayford of Birmingham, AL, Michael Hoffman of Baltimore, MD and Sean Connolly of Hamden, great-grandmother of Kaitlin and James Carlisle and Riley and Elizabeth Navarre. She was predeceased by a brother and 3 sisters. Myrtle was born April 24, 1912 in Athol, MA. During WW II she transported injured veterans by ambulance off ships from Boston Harbor to local hospitals. She was a longtime active parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, she also served in many offices of the Hamden and Milford Emblem Clubs (Ladies Auxiliary of the Elks) including State and Past President and Supreme District Deputy. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Thurs., Feb. 19 at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10 a.m. Friends may call Wed. from 4 - 8 p.m. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Edward J. Connolly Scholarship Fund, c/o Hamden Elks, 175 School St., Hamden, CT 06518 or the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave., Meriden, CT 06450.
