Nancy Holbrook Friend, 81, of 135 Belle Rive, Ninety Six, S.C. formerly of 125 Putnam Ave., Hamden died Sunday. She was the widow of the late Harvey H. Friend. She is survived by daughters, Marsha DuPre of Ninety Six, SC, Nina Smith of Colorado Springs, CO, Pamela Mills of Reynoldsburg, OH and a son Ralph Nettleton of Pickerington, OH. Sister of Mrs Robert (Jean) Olsson of North Branford. Also survived by 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Predeceased by 2 grandsons. Mrs. Friend was sales manager at the former Steinbach Store in Hamden, prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Hamden Plains Methodist Church, Church Women United, East Haven Skating Club and the A.A.R.P. Hamden Chapter. Funeral Service will be held at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Wed., April 25 at 1:00 pm. Friends may call Tuesday (TODAY) from 6 - 8 p.m. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
