Nancy Laura Taylor, 56, of Lighthouse Rd., New Haven passed away Dec. 7, 2003 in Yale New Haven Hospital after a tough battle with cancer. Nancy was born in Bridgeport, April 5, 1947, a daughter of Bruce W. Taylor of New Haven and the late Doris Morehouse Taylor and grew up in Devon and had lived in New Haven since 1996. She received her M.A. degree from S.C.S.U. and was an elementary school teacher in the New Haven Public School system. She was an active member of the First & Summerfield United Methodist Church and served on several committees. Nancy also enjoyed reading, poetry, antiques, travel and cherished time with her grandchildren. In addition to her father, she is survived by two sons and their wives, Robert B. and Shirley Skolozdra of Hamden, Michael S. and April Skolozdra of Fairfield, a brother, William M. Taylor of Simsbury, CT, a sister, Betty Hagan of Anaheim, CA and five grandchildren; Stefan, Benjamin, Ashley, Jessica, and Caitlin Skolozdra. Funeral service will be Thursday, Dec. 11 at 10 A.M. in the Christ Episcopal Church, 526 Amity Rd., Bethany. Friends may call Wednesday at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden from 4-8 P.M. Burial in Carrington Cemetery.
