Natalie Melnikoff
Kruchok
September 7, 1930 – December 6, 2025
Natalie Melnikoff Kruchok, beloved mother and baba, fell asleep in the Lord on December 6, 2025, at the age of 95. A lifelong servant of her faith, family, and community, Natalie devoted her years to the Orthodox Church and to the people she loved.
Born and raised in New Haven, Natalie—affectionately known as "Skip," "Skippy," or "Schkippa"—was a dedicated member of the Orthodox Church in America and an active participant in the Federated Russian Orthodox Clubs. From her youth, she faithfully served the Church, preparing candles for services, singing in the choir, and taking on any task that was needed.
Natalie was employed for many years as a Youth Membership Coordinator at the Knights of Columbus, but her heart was always with her parish. Upon her retirement, she continued her lifelong service by taking on the role of Starosta (parish council chair) at Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church, a position she held with devotion for a total of eight years.
In 2015, Natalie moved to South Carolina to support her family, yet New Haven always remained her true home and is where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved late husband, Alexander Kruchok.
Natalie is survived by her daughters, Alexis Swan and Tamara Kruchok; her son-in-law, Peter; and her cherished grandson, Gregory.
Calling Hours at Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church, 285 Alden Ave., New Haven Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m., with a Memorial Service being held at 6:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be in church on Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30, prior to her Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. Burial in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Repast will follow at church.
Funeral arrangements are in care of Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. To send condolences to Natalie's family, please see obituary at www.beecherandbennett.com.
May Natalie's memory be eternal, Vichnaya pamyat.
