Nathaniel A. Beckford, age 69, of Meriden passed away on May 19, 2023. Born in Woodland, Jamaica on February 16, 1954, he was a son of the late Clifford and Joyce (Brown) Beckford. Nathaniel moved from Jamaica in 2004. He worked at local nursing homes, and for the past 5 years he had been employed by the FedEx Corporation until his sudden illness. Nathaniel is survived by his wife Merlyn (Tagan) Beckford; his son Anthony Beckford of Jamaica; 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; his stepchildren Sonia Morgan of Meriden, George Morgan of Brooklyn, NY, Adrian, Kenneth, Victor and Devon Morgan, all of Meriden; brother Roy Beckford of Jamaica, and 5 sisters.
Friends may visit with Nathaniel's family on June 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, 84 Franklin Street, Meriden. His Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the church. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
