Norma G. Cota, 80, of Hamden, wife of the late John D. Cota, passed away on September 13, 2012 at the Hospital of Saint Raphael. Born in Bridgeport on September 2, 1932 to the late Chester and Lily Wood Griffin. Norma is survived by her two daughters, Laurel Cota and her fiancé Francis Stowell of Middlebury and Sharon Cota of Hamden, grandsons, Joseph John Ryan and John Charles Huchet, siblings, Sandra Ericson of Milford and John Griffin of Madison and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Richard Griffin. Norma grew up in Bridgeport before moving to the New Haven area where she raised her children. She was retired from Housatonic Lumber Co. in Derby where she worked for many years as Secretary to the President. When she wasn't spending quality time with her family, Norma always enjoyed a good book or crossword puzzles. Friends are invited to visit with her family on Sat., Sept. 22, 2012, from 11 a.m. to noon at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. A Memorial Service will take place at noon.
