Pasqual (Pat) Esposito, 95, of Westbrook, CT, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2017 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Pat was born on May 11th, 1922 to Michael and Christina Romano Esposito in New Haven, CT. After growing up in City Point and graduating from Commercial High School in New Haven, Pat enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 during World War II. He was assigned to a TB-3 Bomber Squadron and was an Aviation Metalsmith 1st Class V6 at the end of the war in 1946. Pat married the love of his life, Mary Campbell, on May 15th, 1954, and he built the family Hill St. home in Hamden in 1958. Pat was the proud first employee of Detroit Steel's Hamden plant in 1948 and he was the final employee at that location when he retired in 1990 after 42 years. Pat was active in youth sports and a founding member of the Hamden Elks. Pat loved sports and was a diehard fan of Yankees baseball, Patriots football, and UConn basketball. Pat was predeceased by his wife Mary, brothers Tony and Al, and sister Emily Bodle. He is survived by his brother Mike (Marilyn) Esposito, sister Ann Marie Fuoco, and his four children, Marianne Esposito and Susan Campbell of Westbrook, Dr. Pat ( Debbie) Esposito of Spartanburg, SC, and John (Janet) Esposito of Enfield, CT, along with 6 grandchildren : Bryan, Sydney, Patrick, Tyler, Riley, and Colby. Pat also leaves many loving nieces and nephews, and his cherished Baltimore family: Kim, John, Karen, Ron, and Dee Dee. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Joseph Church, 129 Edwards St., New Haven on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamden. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
