Paul A. Rood, Jr., age 47, of Southington, passed away on December 12, 2017 after a long illness. Paul was born in New Haven on March 22, 1970, the son of Paul A. Rood, Sr. of Meriden and Arlene (Welchans) Johnson of Pawcatuck. Paul spent his childhood years in Guilford and was a graduate of Middletown High School. Living most of his life in Connecticut, he was a construction worker formerly employed at Creative Concrete. Besides his parents, he is survived by his stepmother Jamie Hackbarth of Meriden; his sister Kristan Sprague & her husband Garth of Waterford; nephew Andrew Clark; niece Rachel Clark; his partner Beth Crocco of Southington; and his beloved cat Mufasa. Paul's family would like to thank Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care; The Connecticut Hospice and Dr. Hegde and staff of UConn Health Center for their compassionate care of Paul.
