Pearl May Bloom, 88, of Hamden, passed away on August 27, 2011. Pearl was the widow of William Bloom, mother of Debra Bloom of Huntington Beach, CA, Jerry Bloom of Shelton, William Bloom of Rocky Hill & Robert Bloom of Plantsville. Pearl also leaves 3 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren. Born in Dunfield, Newfoundland, Canada on Sept. 28, 1922, she was the youngest of nine born to the late George & Elizabeth Ann Meadus Clarke. Pearl was a former school teacher in Canada before moving to the US 62 years ago. Her Funeral Service will be held in BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 7:00 PM. Interment will be private.
