Phyllis J. Reil, 88, of Venice FL formerly of Bethany, wife of the late Otto A. Reil, died Feb. 16, 2004 in Venice. She was born July 11, 1915 in New Haven, daughter of the William and Gertrude Myers Janswick. She worked as a secretary at Amity High School for 13 years retiring in 1980. She was a member of First Church of Christ Congregational of Bethany. Survivors include a son, Robert W. Reil and his wife, Crystal of Bethany, a daughter, Judy R. Sjogren and her husband, Alan of Hamden, a brother, William Janswick, Jr. of Seal Beach, CA, three grandchildren, Carson Reil Echeverry, Donna Sjogren and Robert Sjogren and two great-grandchildren, Brittany Sjogren and Alyssa Emerson. Memorial service Thurs., March 4, 2004 at 7 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
