Phyllis Marion Simjian (Beers) of Hamden, CT, beloved wife of Charles H. Simjian for 63 years, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford, CT. Born September 5, 1934 to the late Byron Beers and Margaret Foskett Beers, she grew up in Cheshire, CT. After graduation from Hamden High School she moved to New Haven, CT where she met Charlie. Phyllis enjoyed all types of puzzles; jigsaws to crosswords and was an avid quilter, having lovingly made quilts for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always welcomed family and friends into her home at any time, with no invitation needed, providing them with delicious home-cooked meals and desserts. She was predeceased by her brother, Lewis Beers of Florida and her stepmothers Winifred Beers of Cheshire and Dorothy Beers of Hampton Beach, NH. Surviving are three daughters, Lisa Liguori (Joe) of Hamden, CT, Anne Meyer (Paul) of Wilmington, NC and Janice Simjian-Jones (Kevin Ahern) of Glastonbury, CT. She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
