George, Rachel Sorvillo Rachel George, age 92, of Main St., formerly of Pease Rd., Hamden, passed away Nov. 4, 2008. Rachel was the widow of Michael George Sr. Mother of Lorrie & her husband Ronald T. Mikolinski of Hamden & the late Michael George Jr; grandmother of Ronald M. Mikolinski, Tammy Rajcula, Darlene Stickney & Cheryl Colwick; great grandmother of Danielle, Matthew & Jesse Mikolinski, Jessica & Alyssa Rajcula, Michael & Jenna Stickney, Andrew, Samatha & Jackson Colwick; sister of Emily Corrado of East Haven, Nicholas Sorvillo of New Haven & the late Anna Colavolpe & Frank Sorvillo. Born in New Haven on March 11, 1916 Rachel was a daughter of the late Ralph & Antoinette Pinto Sorvillo. Rachel worked in sales & purchasing for Eli Moore Children Clothing Store in Hamden, then went on to work in the family business, The Garden Shoppe in Yalesville. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church for over 60 years. Her Funeral will be held at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008 at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, New Haven. Friends may also visit at the funeral home onThursday from 4 to 7 PM. Burial will take place in All Saint's Cemetery, North Haven.
