Rafael Torres Zamarripa, 69, passed away at his home in Meriden on November 30, 2023. Born in Nogalitos Casas, Tamaulipas, Mexico on October 24, 1954, he was the son of the late Cirilo Torres and Crescencia Zamarripa. He is survived by his loving wife Maria Gonzalez Sotelo, his children, Miriam Torres, Rafael Torres, Diana Torres, and Jose Manuel Torres, 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Rafael worked as a truck driver for many years for several companies. In his free time, he enjoyed playing baseball, listening to music, and getting scratches. He was also known for having a "sweet tooth", as he especially loved cake and candied fruits. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family, and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow.

Friends are invited to visit with Rafael's family on Tuesday evening, December 5 ^th , from 4-7 p.m. in Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. A funeral service celebrating his life will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
