Rafaela Chardon, 99, wife of the late Angel Chardon, of Orange St., New Haven passed away Feb. 4, 2010 after a long illness. Beloved mother of Orlando Chardon of New Haven, Carlos and his wife Patricia Chardon of Missouri and Puerto Rico, the late Mercedes Chardon, the late Dimas Chardon, and survived by her surrogate daughter Cynthia Teixeira of New Haven, sister of Antolin Cruz of Port Richey, FL, Generosa Gonzales and Tali Cruz, both of Puerto Rico, loving grandmother of Felicia, Carlos S., Dimas Jr., Ricardo, Angelina, Sonia, Orlando, and Qasim Chardon, Zoraida Nieves and Nirvana Beale. She is also survived by 18 beloved great-grandchildren. She was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Mar. 17, 1910 daughter of the late Antolino and Maria del Carmen Cruz. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT-TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave. West Haven, Tuesday morning Feb. 9 at 9:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Martin dePorres Church, 136 Dixwell Ave., New Haven at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
