RICHARD O. MARENHOLZ Hamden- Richard O. Marenholz, 78, loving husband of Janice Knodel Marenholz of Hamden passed away suddenly Mon., Aug. 23, 2004. Loving father of John Marenholz, and his wife, Carol Marenholz of Hamden, adoring grandfather of Adam Marenholz, brother of George Marenholz of Wallingford, Otto (Bob) Marenholz of Drakes Branch, VA., John Marenholz of Southington, Sterling Marenholz , Ruth DiGioia, and Cynthia Joyce all of Hamden and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 2 sisters, Martha Marshall, Alma Rosadini and a brother, Albert Marenholz. Richard was born in Hamden, July 19, 1926, a son of the late Otto and Martha Podgwaite Marenholz and was a lifelong resident of Hamden. He served in the US Army as a sergeant during WW II and was a paratrooper in the 511th Airborne Div. in the Asiatic & Pacific Campaigns. Mr. Marenholz was employed at the Eastern Elevator Co as a mechanic for 28 years until 1976. He then worked at Amtrak Railroad as a carpenter in the bridge & building dept until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Memorial service will be Friday, Aug. 27 at 10 a.m. in the St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Whitney Ave.New Haven. Friends may call Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
