In New Haven, Monday, October 9, 2006, Richard Kenyon Martin, 70, of Calamus Meadow Rd., Hamden. Husband of Elizabeth (Betty) White Martin; father of Donna (Steven) Richetelle of Hamden, Richard J. Martin of Hamden, John W. (Kristine) Martin of NC, Kenneth J. (Renee) Martin of Denver, CO; 9 grandchildren, Samantha Richetelle, Dean Richetelle, Miranda Richetelle, Jasmine Maraco, Allyson Martin, Shannin Martin, Kenyon Martin, John W. Martin, III, Sarah Martin, and 1 sister, Gail (Jim) Kassel of Canton, CT. Richard was born November 4, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late John William and Grace Shann Martin. He was a member of North Haven Congregational Church, graduated with high honors from Hamden High School and was a veteran of the US Air Force. He worked at Sikorsky Aircraft for 32 years, retiring 10 years ago. While at Sikorsky, he was Superintendent of Presidential Helicopters. Dick was an avid golfer and one of the original members and the anchor player for the "Mulligans" golf team of the Sikorsky National Golf League. He was an active member for over 25 years and always a true gentleman on and off the links. He was also a member of the East Coast Swamp Fliers. Funeral Service Friday, October 13, 2006 at 10 am at North Haven Congregational Church. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 PM at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT.
