Richard 'Dick' Gordon Mills, 59, of Morgan Lane, West Haven passed away suddenly May 22, 2009, while on vacation in Vermont. He was born in New Haven, May 13, 1950 a son of the late J. Gordon and Doris Smith Mills and had resided in West Haven all of his life. He was a home renovating contractor, a member of the First Congregational Church of West Haven, and Past President of the Oak Grove Cemetery Assoc. He also enjoyed car racing and hunting. Mr. Mills is survived by several cousins; Ann Ross of Oak Bluffs, MA., Bruce Boren of Mattapoisett, MA, Thomas Mills of Oxford, CT, Elaine Pilkowicz of Milford, CT, Russell Mills of Westminster, MD, Charles Mills of VA, and Betsy Sorell of Putnam, CT, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Tuesday June 2, at 1 p.m. at the BEECHER & BENNETT-TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave., West Haven. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 p.m. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery.
