Richard Anthony Ziemba, 81, of Hillside Ave., Branford, husband of the late Frances Plympton Ziemba, passed away suddenly August 26, 2018. He was the loving father of Karen (Frank) Majkut of Hopkinton, RI, Brenda (Stuart) Magoveny of Northford, and Michele (Dave) Bolduc of North Haven. Brother of Irene Lewis of Milford, CT and Bernice Zedalis of VA. Richard is also survived by two grandchildren, Gillianne and Michael Bolduc. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Kisiel and Genevieve Repass, and two brothers, John and Edward Ziemba. Richard was born in Hartford, CT May 26, 1937, a son of the late Joseph P. and Sophie Stawiarski Ziemba, and proudly served in the US Army from 1955-1957. He received a BS degree from Quinnipiac College in 1978, and was employed in advertising sales at WICC and WELI. He also owned Bedford Group Advertising, and was an adjunct professor at SCSU. Rich was a member of the Southern CT Cycle Club, a founder of the North Haven Camera Club and the Silver Screen Movie Club of North Haven. He also was an avid photographer and enjoyed cycling, reading, movies, and the performing arts. He had been a volunteer at Gaylord Hospital since 2012, and he also volunteered at Elim Park and Smilow Cancer Center. Relatives and friends may visit with his family on Friday August 31, 2018 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. and also may attend a Celebration Service at 5:30 at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
