Rita M. Hanson, 80, of 38 Tokoneke Dr., Meriden, passed away at her home Friday, July 9, 2004. She was the wife of Claude Hanson. Born in Baltimore, MD, Oct. 26, 1923, daughter of the late James and Mary Schultz Szymonowski. Mrs. Hanson was a member of Saint Rose Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Diane Garstka and husband, Michael Garstka of Meriden sons, Ronald Hanson and wife Sandra Hanson of Somers, CT, Gary Hanson and wife, Christina Hanson of Andover, CT and David Hanson and wife, Tracy Hanson of Meriden and a daughter-in-law, Pamela Hanson of Meriden, brothers, James Szymonowski of Aberdeen, MD and Frank Szymonowski and wife, Helen Szymonowski of Rosedale, MD. Also survived by grandchildren, Kevin Hanson and wife, Roberta, Michael, and Peter Hanson and Joseph Garstka and a great-grandaughter, Elena Hanson. She was predeceased by a son, Stephen Hanson and two brothers, Walter and Albert Szymonowski. Funeral service at BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, Wed., July 14th at 10:30 a.m. with Father Isaac, O .F. M. of Saint Rose Church officiating.
