Obituary

Robert Frederick Carlson, age 91, of Cook Hill Rd, Cheshire, formerly of Fairview Ave., Hamden, passed away on June 24, 2009 in Elim Park Health Center. Robert was the husband of the late Helen Johnson Carlson; father of Carol C. & her husband Fred Auger of Branford, CT, Nancy C. & her husband Raymond Cirmo of Cheshire, CT, David F. Carlson of East Windsor, NJ, Robert J. & his wife Diane Carlson of Danielson, CT and John R. & his wife Shirley Carlson of Middlebury, VT; father-in-law of Linda H. Carlson of Middletown, CT and brother of the late Marion Christine Ohr. Robert also leaves 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Born in West Haven on August 18, 1917 he was the son of the late August F. & Agnes Anderson Carlson. Robert was a Tool Designer for Pratt & Whitney where he worked for 20 years. Prior to that he was employed at Snow Nabstedt. After his retirement Robert did much volunteering at Elim Park in Cheshire, visited patients, was in charge of the Library and was the Acting Building Fire Marshall. He thoroughly enjoyed participating in the billiard tournaments at Elim Park. Robert was also a former member of DeMolay. Relatives and friends may visit with his family on Saturday, June 27, 2009 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave. Hamden, and are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.
