In Hamden, Oct. 22, 2003, Robert John Fitzgerald of Riverside Dr., husband of Mary K. Veach Fitzgerald. Born in Chicago, IL, July 6, 1915, son of the late Roy J. and Elsie Trozelle Fitzgerald. An alumnus of Purdue University, he had a long career as a mechanical design engineer. Mr. Fitzgerald served as Scout Master for Troop # 1, Boy Scouts of America in Mount Carmel in the 1950s and 60s. He also served as a Deacon for Olivet Baptist Church. He was an amateur musician, photographer, woodworker and genealogist. Beside his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kathleen F. Gee and her husband Laurence Gee of North Haven, a son, Jon K. Fitzgerald and his wife Carol Fitzgerald of Littleton, CO, three grandsons, Scott and Brett Fitzgerald and Robert Gee and a great grandson, Galen Fitzgerald. He was predeceased by his sister, Betty J. Wukovits of Mishawaka, IN and a grandson, Brian F. Gee of North Haven.
