In CT Hospice, Jan. 6, 2004, Robert E. Higgins, 76, of Eastern St., New Haven, brother of Joseph T. Higgins of Southington, CT and Scarborough, ME and very good friend of Andy Camera of North Haven. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Francis and Raymond Higgins. Robert was born in New Haven, Oct. 28, 1927, a son of the late Timothy and Ruth Horton Higgins. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and received many medals during his tour of duty. He worked in the maintenance department of the former A C Gilbert Co. for 20 years. His hobbies were watching sports, bowling and visits to the Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casinos. Funeral service Fri., Jan. 9, 2004 at 12 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL, 410 Campbell Ave. at Court St., West Haven. Friends may call Friday from 11 a.m. Interment in St. Bernard Cemetery, New Haven.
