Mrs. Roberta G. Zeiser, age 83, of Meriden, passed away on Dec. 21, 2013. Born in New Haven on Jan. 1, 1930 she was a daughter of the late Frank & Nellie (Anderson) Godwin. Roberta is survived by her husband of 63 years, Lorenz Zeiser; her children & their spouses, Debra & John Stephen of Meriden, Loren & Gary Dickens of Bristol, Martin & Karen Zeiser of Meriden and Lisa & Steve Bartlett of Leesburg, GA; grandchildren Scott Dickens & his wife Sara Tremblay of Willimantic, Christopher Dickens & his wife Juliette of Plantsville Stephanie Zeiser & Eric Zeiser both of Meriden; great grandson Noah Dickens; brother & sister in-law Frank & Audrey Godwin of Portland and 3 nephews & 1 niece and their families. Roberta was formerly employed at Connecticut Valley Hospital, Roberts's Industries and retired from the Meriden Board of Education. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 45, Middlesex Grange and Girl Scouts of America. She was a long standing member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church where she was active with many committees and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed sewing, needlework, quilting, baking and loved gardening. She had a love for animals, especially birds. Roberta was admired for her ability to be able to undertake any project and create something beautiful. Her family would like to thank the staff of Westfield Care Center for their care of Roberta and their support of the family.
