Roland C. Texeira

Roland C. Texeira, 39, of Hamden, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 24, 2026, following a short, but courageous battle with cancer.

Born in New Haven on October 9, 1986, Roland grew up in Hamden and graduated from Hamden High School in 2005. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Southern Connecticut State University.

Following college, Roland pursued several career paths, but his true passion was found in the restaurant industry. This came as no surprise to those who knew him, as he never met a stranger. His warm personality, infectious smile, and carefree spirit drew people to him wherever he went, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Roland built a successful career as a bartender and most recently worked at Cast Iron Chef Pizza & Bar in Seymour. He was also the creator of BlackSheep Streetwear, a clothing line that reflected his creativity, individuality, and spirit.

Roland is survived by his mother, Judy Behler; his brothers, David Texeira and his wife, Kyrstyna, and Jon Behler; his grandmother, Cindy Turner; his beloved niece and nephew, David Jr. and Riley; his uncle, Paul Turner and his wife Mary; his aunts, Debbie Sidorick and her husband Nick, Susan Pelletier, Cindy Cavallaro and her husband Joe, and Tracy Turner and her wife Amy Marsh; as well as many cousins and dear friends who will miss him greatly. Roland was predeceased by his father, Robert Behler, and his grandfather, Eugene Turner.

Roland's kindness, generosity, and ability to connect with others will be remembered by all whose lives he touched. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the countless people fortunate enough to have known him.

Family and friends may meet with Roland's family from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29th at Beecher and Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Avenue, Hamden. A Prayer Service will be held Tuesday, June 30th at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Centerville Cemetery, Hamden.
