Obituary

Ronald C. French, 90, of Hamden, loving husband to Eugenie French, passed away on January 1, 2018. He was born on September 4, 1927 in Springfield, MA to the late Ralph and Catherine Campbell French. Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughter Roxanne French of New Hampshire, and grandchildren Steven French, Adriane Hoitt, and Linnea Bredenberg. Also survived by great-grandchildren Justin and Aaron Bredenberg, Vera and Julian Hoitt. He is predeceased by his son Steven French. After graduating high school in Springfield, MA, he went on to honorably serve in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He also served as Staff Sgt. in the Air Force during the Korean War. Upon completing his service he returned to study at Boston University under the GI Bill. Ronald then went on to work for National Filter Media, Hamden, Swift Industrial Adhesives, West Haven, and Centerville Lumber, Hamden until his retirement. In his free time he was a proud member of the Jaycees; having served as President of the New Haven Chapter, Director of the CT Chapter, and Senator at the International level. His family would like to thank Ronald's dear friend of many years, Bill Wilson. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 19 at 11 AM in the Old Stone Church, 251 Main St., East Haven. Interment with Military Honors will follow in East Lawn Cemetery. Services entrusted to Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, Hamden.
