Rose Nuñez Evans, beloved wife of William Evans, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026. She was born in New Milford, on October 25, 1954 to Nuria Amigo Nunez and the late Luis Nunez.

Rose was raised in Fairfield and was a proud graduate of Southern Connecticut State University. She dedicated her life to education, serving as a beloved kindergarten teacher and library media specialist for 39 years at the Family Academy of Multilingual Exploration in Fair Haven. Rose had a remarkable gift for connecting with children and was cherished by generations of students whose lives she touched with her kindness, patience, and enthusiasm for education.

Besides her devoted husband, Rose will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Ashlee Evans, and her siblings, Virginia Olson, Louis Nunez, Paul Nunez, and Katie Nunez.

Friends are invited to visit with her family on Monday, May 4th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. A Memorial Service celebrating Rose’s life will continue in the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
