At her home, Sept. 11, 2003, Rose T. Laraia Cassano, 87, wife of the late James J. Cassano of Milford. Mother of Sr. Maria Cassano CND of New York City, Carmelia (Mrs. Robert L. Erickson) Cassano of Orange, CT, Vincent (Georgia) Cassano of Tyler, Texas and Michael (Laura) Cassano of Bronx, New York, sister of, Peter, Joseph, James, Dominic and Margaret Laraia and Jeanette LaPaglia and the late Frank Laraia, Nina Cavouti and Mary Laraia. Also survived by 6 grandchildren. Rose was born in Brooklyn, NY, July 20, 1916 a daughter of the late Michael and Carmela Trivigno Laraia. She was a school librarian at Villa Maria Academy in the Bronx. She was a graduate of the College of New Rochelle, School of New Resources, Class of 1986. Funeral leaving BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave. at Court St., West Haven at 9:45 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 16th. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery.
