Obituary

Rose Roggemann, 80, of Guilford, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022 peacefully in her sleep. Born April 19, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Conrad and Annette Merklin Hoenig. Prior to retiring, Rose held careers as a diesel mechanic, factory worker, and certified nurse's aid. She was an avid fisherman and loved music and dance. She devoted her retirement to scrabble, bingo, and making mischief with her girlfriends.
Rose is survived by her brother, Conrad Hoenig; her daughters, DonnaMarie Buffington and her husband Joseph, Stacey-Lyn Roggemann, and Kim Coyle and her husband Christopher; her grandchildren, Monica and Joseph Buffington, Aiden and Colin Coyle, Matthew, Joseph, and Maria Lanza; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother, Frank Hoenig, his partner John Lewicki, and her sister-in-law, Loretta Hoenig. Her family is especially grateful to the staff at Apple Rehab of Guilford for their loving care of Rose.
Friends are invited to a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on April 30th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church, 145 Main St., Unionville, followed by her burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Avon. BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden in care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you do a good deed and be kind to others in memory of Rose.
