Meriden - Ruben Torres, 71 died on Saturday, February 18, 2006 at a local convalescent home. Ruben was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico a son of the late Manuel and Julia Torres. He was a resident of Meriden for over 30 years. He is survived by his ex-wife, Romanita and his longtime companion Maria, six children, Victor Torres, Luz Torres, Ismael Torres, Zoraida Torres, Luis Torres and Betzaida Torres, a daughter-in-law, Yvette Torres, 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Lidia and seven brothers, Abelardo, Nelson, Anibal, Roman, Rolando, Ovidio and Olegario. He was predeceased by a brother Evelio. Relatives and friends by call at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden on Tuesday, Feb. 21(TODAY) from 5:30 to 7:30. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 22 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
