In Wallingford, January 27, 2004, Russell Charles Hintz of 65 Masonic Ave., formerly of Hamden, husband of the late Ebba Berg Hintz. Born in New Haven, April 4, 1914, he was the son of the late Ernest F. and Mary Usinger Hintz. A veteran of W.W. II, he served with Co. C, 289th Infantry Div. of the U.S. Army. After his discharge, Russ attended Stone Busines School and became a Store Manager for A & P, retiring after 40 years. He was a member of Hiram Lodge # 1, A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite and Pyramid Temple Shriners, where he participated in the Drum and Bugle Corp. In later years, he move to the Johnson Apartments on the Masonicare Campus in Wallingford. He is survived by his; son, Russell B. Hintz and his wife Susan of Milford, daughters, Nancy H. Moore and her husband Robert of Prospect and Linda H. Gancarz and her husband Walter of Cheshire, a brother, Lester E. Hintz of Wallingford, grandchildren; Jason, Christopher and Jared Moore, Eric and Adam Hintz, Jaclyn, April, and Tiffany Gancarz., and 7 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers; Elmer and Irving Hintz and a sister, Miriam Hintz. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN on Thursday, Jan. 29th from 4 - 8 P.M. Interment will be private for the family. It is suggested that contributions be sent to the Shriner's Hospital for Chldren, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
