Russell Edward Stevens, Jr., 77, of Rocky Hill, passed away on January 8, 2021 at the Veterans' Home & Hospital in Rocky Hill. Born on January 16, 1943 to the late Russell and Mildred Wilson Stevens, Sr., Russell was a Vietnam War veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his nephews, Jonathan, Douglas, and William Stine and niece, Sarah Stine. Besides his parents, Russell was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Stine, and his aunt, Ruth Colbourn.
For several years, Russell made his home at the Veterans' Home & Hospital, where he had many friends, including his best friend Suha D'Beisi. Russell was loved by the staff and he will be greatly missed. The family recognizes the special care provided by the Foxtrot Unit.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, January 14th at 10:00 a.m. at the Middletown Veterans' Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT. BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden has care of arrangements.
