Obituary

MERIDEN - Ruth Violet Cyphers, 99, of 320 Colony St., died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, at the Bradley Home. She was the wife of the late Harold L. Cyphers, Sr. Born in Meriden, August 7, 1903, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Emma Swanson Anderson. She was a lifelong resident of Meriden and was a member of St. Andrew Episcopal Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Walter Ligas of Killingworth; a son and daughter-in-law, Harold L. and Fernande Cyphers, Jr. of Prospect; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Helma Lisee and Esther Davis and three brothers, Algot Anderson, Clarence Anderson and Harold Anderson. The funeral will be held Wed. Sept. 18, 2002 at 10 a.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. Anne Jensen will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service.
