Ruth Barnes, 88, beloved wife of Richard B. Barnes for 65 years, entered Heaven on Friday, September 16, 2022. Ruth was born in Jersey City, N.J. on March 26, 1934 to the late Herman and Maria Single. Ruth graduated valedictorian from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Ruth is survived by her husband and five loving sons; Russell (Priscilla), Steven (Lancy), David, Kurt (Marion), and Mark (Lynda). She also leaves fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, whom she loved very much.  She is predeceased by her sister, Helga Liccardo.

In addition to her family, which was the love of her life, Ruth enjoyed traveling; which included visiting relatives in Germany, dancing, and listening to music with her husband. She also enjoyed reading and following current events.

Friends are invited to visit with Ruth's family from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Avenue, Hamden on Wednesday, September 21st. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 22nd. Burial will be private.
