Ruth Johnson Coppinger, 85, of 339 Eastern St. New Haven, wife of the late William J. Coppinger passed away in Ct Hospice Branford January 31, 2001 after a brief illness. She was born in Ansonia, CT September 19, 1915 a daughter of the late Michael J. and Johanna Casey Johnson and had lived in West Haven for many years before moving to New Haven in 1980. She was employed by the CT Laborer's Health and Pension Fund as a secretary for 20 years retiring in 1976. She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Mary Ellen and Frank P. Gillon of Hamden, CT, Ruth Ann and Peter L. Harrison of Orange, CT., and Patricia and Edward J. Drew, Jr. of Madison, CT, six grandchildren, Frank W. Gillon, Megan and William J. Harrison, Edward J. III, Thomas P.and William J. Drew. She is also survived by several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Funeral Mass and burial will be private.
