Ruth O. Schleicher, 89, of Meriden passed away peacefully on November 2, 2018. Wife of 70 years to Edward G. Schleicher, Ruth was born in Litchfield on December 22, 1928 to the late John & Augusta Folkman Walter. Besides Ruth's husband, she will be remembered by: her son, Kenneth (Susan) Schleicher of Exeter, NH; her daughters, Holly (Mark) Dailey of Harwinton, Fawn (Fred) Garbonola of East Haddam; her grandsons, Kenneth & Eric Schleicher and Josh & Chris Dailey; and her great-grandson, Masen Dailey. Ruth was predeceased by: her brothers, John, Edward, and Charles Walter; and her sisters, Emma Stevens and Bertha Looney. As a parishioner of Immanuel Lutheran Church for many years, she was the superintendent of Sunday School and involved in worship and music, as well as many other activities. Ruth was a member of the Turner German American Society for over 40 years, singing with the chorus. The family would like to thank Chesthelm Health & Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care for Ruth. Friends are invited to visit with her family at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Thursday November 8 from 10-11 AM before her Funeral Service at 11 AM. Interment to follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
