Ruth B. Withnell, age 86, of Hamden passed away on January 28, 2013. Ruth was the widow of Harold 'Hal' M. Withnell. Born in New Haven on March 6, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Wilhelm & Rosel Schmidt Baumgartner. Ruth is survived by her son David Withnell & his wife Liz of Rockville, MD; her daughter Laurie Vigneault & her husband Ken of Milford, CT; her grandchildren Marissa Vigneault & her husband Bill Graham, Kevin Vigneault & his wife Meredith Cowie, Jennifer Hawthorne & her husband Brian, Andrew Withnell, Ben Withnell and Leah Withnell and her great grandchildren Emerson Vigneault, Harper Graham & Jack Hawthorne. Ruth was a Registered Nurse, a graduate of the St. Raphael Hospital School of Nursing and a 60 year member of the Hamden Plains United Methodist Church. Friends may attend her Funeral Service on Saturday, February 2nd at 11:00 AM in Hamden Plains United Methodist Church. Interment will be held privately with her family.
