Shirley Ann Gaudio, age 90, of Hamden, Connecticut passed away on October 5, 2026 at the Whitney Rehabilitation Center in Hamden. Born in New Haven on August 24, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Dominic and Mary (DeCapua) Cofranceso. Shirley is survived by her daughters, Renee Mortali and her husband Joseph of Hamden and Audra Nuzzo and her husband Anthony of Northford; her grandchildren, Michelle (William) DeLucia, Marissa (Michael) Lyons, Joseph (Briana) Mortali, Jr., Jenna Giulietti, and Mario Giulietti; and 9 great-grandchildren. Shirley was predeceased by her sisters, Marie Farnocchia, Lena Longobardi, Marjorie Mendillo, and Lorraine Harvey; and her longtime companion, Andy Dobuzinsky. A longtime resident of West Haven and Hamden, Shirley was a former bookkeeper for local law firms and Scarpellino's Resturant.
Friends may visit with her family at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Tuesday morning, October 13th, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul VI Parish/Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Whitney Ave., Hamden. Entombment will take place in All Saints Mausoleum, North Haven.
