Shirley Gerhardt, 89, of New Haven, passed away on May 4, 2011 at the Hospital of St. Raphael. She was born on December 5, 1921 to the late Walter and Marguerite Lockheed-Boyd Gerhardt. Shirley leaves her nephew Paul Duffy and his wife Andria of Branford, her longtime friend Ruth Setaro of North Haven and her loving church community. She was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Duffy. Shirley was a life long resident of New Haven and a parishioner of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a talented pianist and worked at various local businesses as an office clerk. During her retirement she enjoyed volunteering for different organizations, especially SAGE where she had received an award for her dedication. A Memorial Service will be take place on Saturday, May 14th at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Haven. Services are in the care of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
